Overview

The Allis Chalmers 5020 is a compact utility tractor that was available in both two-wheel drive (2WD) and optional four-wheel drive (MFWD). It was manufactured between 1977 and 1985, initially by the Japanese company Hinomoto and later under the Allis Chalmers brand. The tractor was powered by a two-cylinder Toyosha S126 diesel engine with a displacement of 77.1 cubic inches (1.26 L), producing 25 horsepower. Known for its simplicity, the 5020 features a sliding gear transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears and a three-point hitch category I. It was designed to be versatile, capable of handling a variety of tasks with optional attachments and was often seen with an open operator station that could be fitted with a two-post rollover protection structure (ROPS) and an optional canopy for safety and comfort.
