The White 2-85 was a row-crop tractor primarily manufactured by White between the years 1976 and 1982, coming from their Field Boss series. Equipped with a six-cylinder Perkins diesel engine, the 2-85 primarily served in agricultural settings that required a robust engine with liquid cooling and an inline cylinder orientation. Optional canopy protections or cabin housings provided some level of comfort for operators. The natural aspirated engine offered 85 hp at 2200 RPM with a displacement of 354 cubic inches, aligned with a compression ratio of 16:1. For routine tasks, the tractor's independent PTO system allowed operators to run various implements at either 540 or 1000 RPM.
