Under the hood, the New Economy features a Ford Model A engine. This 4-cylinder, inline gasoline engine is liquid-cooled and naturally aspirated. It has a displacement of 201 cubic inches, which is below average compared to other tractors. The engine runs at 2200 rpm, which is above average speed. Interestingly, this engine was originally used in Ford Model A cars. Farmers could even order the tractor without an engine if they wanted to install their own.
