Last Updated: July 2024

Overview

The Kubota L2550, produced by Kubota from 1985 to 1991, is a compact utility tractor available in either 2WD (model L2550F) or 4WD (model L2550DT) configurations. It is equipped with a 1.4 L three-cylinder Kubota D1402-DI-A diesel engine, capable of outputting 29.44 hp at 2700 rpm and a maximum torque of 69.5 lb-ft (94.24 Nm) at 1600 rpm. Depending on the model, it offers a mechanical shuttle transmission with 8 forward and 8 reverse gears, a partially synchronized transmission with 8 forward and 8 reverse gears, or a power shift GST transmission featuring 8 forward and reverse gears with a wet disc clutch. The tractor boasts a Category I three-point hitch with a lift capacity of 2430 lbs, manual or optional power steering, and differential wet disc brakes. The open operator station includes a two-post ROPS, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 7.7 US gallons. The hydraulic system features an open center design with a pump delivery rate of 6.7 GPM (25.38 l/min). At the standard 540 rpm PTO speed, the tractor has a fuel efficiency of 14.5 Hp.hr/gal (2.86 kW.h/l) and a fuel consumption of 1.93 Gal/hr (7.31 l/h).
