John Deere 730

The John Deere 730, produced from 1958 to 1961, is a 2WD row-crop tractor, part of the Two-Cylinder 30 series, and was built in Waterloo, Iowa, USA. It offered versatility with its two engine options: a 5.9 L gasoline/LP-gas engine and a larger 6.2 L diesel engine, both liquid-cooled, inline two-cylinders with a distinctive electric or pony motor starter. This tractor featured 6 forward and 1 reverse gear in an unsynchronized gear transmission and could come with manual or optional power steering. Braking was accomplished via differential mechanical drum brakes, and it utilized an open-center type hydraulic system with a standard Category II hitch. The John Deere 730 operated with an independent rear PTO at 540 RPM and was designed for an open operator station experience. The model was also adaptable to work with a John Deere 45 loader, adding to its range of capabilities.
