Overview

The International Harvester 5488 is a large, powerful tractor that was designed for row-crop operations. Produced in Rock Island, Illinois by International Harvester from 1981 to 1985, it comes with a choice of 4x2 two-wheel drive or 4x4 four-wheel drive configurations. Its six-cylinder International Harvester DTI-466B diesel engine offers 185 horsepower and a turbocharged an intercooled system for efficient operation. An 18 forward and 6 reverse gear transmission allows for a wide range of speeds, and it’s equipped with hydrostatic power steering and wet disc brakes for improved handling and safety. This model also features a comfortable cab with heating and air conditioning, an independent 1000 rpm rear PTO, and a three-point hitch with a lift capacity of 8,080 pounds, which endows it with significant versatility in terms of attachment and implement compatibility.
