The Farmall 856, part of the 56 series, was manufactured by Farmall, a division of International Harvester, from 1967 to 1971. This tractor could be configured as 2WD or 4WD (MFWD) and was primarily used for row-crop operations. It came with two engine options: a 6.7 L six-cylinder diesel or a 4.9 L six-cylinder gasoline/LP-gas engine. Available transmissions included an 8-forward and 4-reverse gear sliding gear with dry disc clutch or a 16-forward and 8-reverse gears two-speed power shift with dry disc clutch. The tractor was designed for various agricultural tasks and could be fitted with a cab with optional heat and A/C for operator comfort.
