Overview

The Farmall 340 is a row-crop tractor designed for a variety of tasks on a farm. It was produced from 1958 to 1963 and came in two main configurations, featuring either a four-cylinder gasoline or a four-cylinder diesel engine. The tractor featured a simple, rugged design with manual steering and a choice of two transmission types; sliding gear or partial power shift known as Torque Amplifier, providing different gear options. The open operator station was standard, and with a wheelbase of over 79 inches, it offered stability in a wide range of agricultural tasks. The 340 also included a rear independent PTO running at 540 rpm, which is essential for using various implements.
