Overview

The Caterpillar D2 is a historical agricultural crawler tractor that was produced by Caterpillar in the United States from 1938 to 1957. It was built with many different features including an open operator station, mechanical clutches steering system, and a 12-inch track chassis. The D2 had two engine options: a 3.6L 4-cylinder diesel achieving 33.3hp, or a 4.1L 4-cylinder diesel. Both engines utilized a gear type transmission.
